Visit Us On
You are either green or growing or you’re ripe and rotting, that is our approach to life. We are always looking for ways to enrich the lives of people around us through growing our flowers, vegetables and hosting festivals on the farm. It is our mission to have every person that visits us here to leave with more knowledge about how farming works and where their food comes from because if you are not growing through your experiences, well; you know the rest.
Our story: My wife and I both grew up in the lower mainland. I was raised in Delta when it was a one horse town. When they bought their second horse my family moved to Langley which only had one horse back then.
When Lisa and I married and had our two sons we decided we wanted to raise them in a one horse town and Chilliwack was the perfect fit for us. In 1989 we bought a place in a residential subdivision in Chilliwack. Our neighbor’s were great and the family was happy, but something was missing.
I spent the teen years of my summers on my uncle’s farm in Fort Langley BC where we worked hard but played even harder. My wife was raised for the most part by her grandparents who had a 5 acre homestead in Surrey which was more like a park setting. Her grandparents, especially her grandfather loved to grow vegetables and flowers; he had a garden into his 90’s. We both wanted to give this experience to our children so in 1992 we bought a small greenhouse business in East Chilliwack. The business has gone through many troubled times but we have held on to our goal of making this a positive experience for our family and now to the thousands of guests that visit us each year.
Over the years we have developed many different festivals and events on the farm and for now, we have settled on Seven major events. By the calendar year they are:
#1 Peteys Easter Eggstravanganza
#2 The Chilliwack Corn and Country Music Festival
#3 The Chilliwack Garlic and Rockabilly Music Festival
#4 The Reapers Haunted Attraction and The Maze of Terror
#5 Petey’s Pumpkin Patch
#6 Petey’s Country Christmas
#7 Birthday Parties & Special Events
We also believe in giving back by volunteering our time to other organizations and community events. New for this year, we are starting a bursary for each of Chilliwack’s three high schools to say thank you and to help students pursue agriculture, the arts, or ECE programs.
